DVORAK

Ok, so for those of you who don't know there is an alternate keyboard layout other than QWERTY. It's called DVORAK. It was invented by Dr. August Dvorak, an employee of Frank Gilbreth (Cheaper by the Dozen--THE BOOK) He discovered that the QWERTY layout was designed to slow typists down so typewriters wouldn't jam. After many years of studying the English language, Dvorak redesigned the keyboard to make it much faster and also to cause much less strain on the hands and wrists. He designed a 2 handed, and a right and a left handed keyboard. I have recently decided to make the switch to DVORAK and it is proving interesting. My chosen method of learning is Ten Thumbs Typing Tutor. It is a lot of fun and has a Viking as its mascot. I have attached a screen shot of the DVORAK layout.
